2011 Spring Grant Writing Course Listing

G16.1997: Grant Writing Course for Scientists
Grant writing for Scientists is an intensive and hands-on course designed to give young investigators practical assistance and advice. Participants are expected to begin the class ready to write a grant proposal and should plan to submit their application in the fall of 2011.  Although this course is structured along the NIH R01 format, other grants such as K awards and non-NIH sources will be covered. Each lecture will cover material relevant to basic science applications as well as clinical and translational projects.  The course will run on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00pm. Large group lectures will alternate with small group discussions. Participants should expect to devote several hours per week in addition to attending lectures.

If you do not feel you are at a point where you can commit the time needed, or your project is not far enough along to be written up, you may request to audit the course and only attend the large group lectures.  For questions, to audit, or if you have difficulty accessing the online survey, please contact Keith Micoli at keith.micoli@nyumc.org or 212-263-8569.  Course size will be determined by the number of faculty volunteer mentors available to lead small groups. Any faculty member interested in becoming a mentor should contact Keith Micoli as soon as possible.
