• One-year Complimentary Membership with the NYAS. All new first year Postdocs receive a complimentary membership to the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS). Your NYAS membership benefits will include, free or discounted admission to more than 100 symposia, webinars, and conferences; members-only online summaries of Academy meetings and conferences; and much more.  Send us an email if you are a new NYU postdoc and would like to take advantage of this offer.

• Free Membership with the NPA. As an NYU Postdoc, you qualify for a free affiliate membership in the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA). The NPA is the only national professional association in the United States dedicated to the support of the Postdoctoral community. Your NPA membership benefits includes, national representation; subscriptions to NPA publications; access to members-only web content, including toolkits and resources for professional development; discount registrations to NPA-sponsored meetings and more.

• Never Pay Full Price for A Movie Ticket or Broadway Show Again. As an NYU Postdoc, you are eligible to receive discounted tickets for Broadway shows, operas, ballets, sporting events, discounted movie passes, and much more. The Ticket Xpress Office which is located on the ground floor of the School of Medicine between the ATM and the Security Office, also offers discounts on t-shirts, mugs, coupon books and a variety of info on events happening around NYC. • Postdoc Lending Library. Our office maintains a lending library,  which includes books on different career paths and information on general career issues. Currently, the books are mostly on finding jobs in academia and teaching, but these contain some good suggestions and samples on CV, resume writing, letter writing and the like. • Postdoc Happy Hour -  Join us every Friday at 5:00pm in the Sackler Lounge for T.G.I.F. Happy Hour!!!! All Postdocs are welcome. These weekly Happy Hour events are organized by the Sackler Student Council

• Postdoc Socials are held on a bimonthly basis.  The Postdoc Council organizes Postdoc Socials exclusively for postdocs at NYU and surrounding areas of NYU. These can be a good networking opportunity as well as a great way to relax at the end of a busy day, chat with colleagues about science, careers or anything else.

• Coffee With Keith! -Take a break, bring a friend and join Keith for coffee and donuts at the very popular Coffee With Keith!. Held every Friday at 10am, in the Smilow Lobby or in the Courtyard if the weather is good.
