Mission:

Our mission is to address the needs and professional development of Postdoctoral Fellows training at the NYU Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. Our Program serves to nurture all facets of the postdoctoral training and career development for and research training. It seeks to encourage interaction among postdoctoral appointees on an academic, cultural and social level, while supporting the Postdoctoral Program Office and the departments it supports. The Postdoc Program also serves to officiate and represent the postdoctoral population and their interests within the NYU School of Medicine community.

Program Goals:

To administer, monitor and support NYU School of Medicine’s Postdoctoral Policies

To assist postdoctoral fellows in their training and career development by providing professional development, mentoring and career services and programs.

To serve as a central resource unit for all postdoctoral issues (i.e. postdoc policy issues, health insurance, benefits)

Confidential crisis intervention and advising

Individual consultations on mentoring relationships, grievance procedures, Postdoc rights, and policy issues

Dedicated website, monthly newsletter which provides updated resources on postdoctoral policies, funding opportunities, career event and services and much more.
